How it all started..

Færd was founded in 2017 by three friends who all share a passion for outdoors and an active lifestyle. Growing up in different parts of the world but sharing a commitment for nature they have learned to respect it from early age. Fredrik Mollqvist and Knut Rehnberg are raised at the coastal town of Stenungsund in the Swedish west Coast. Alvaro Susena is born and raised in Uruguay. While Fredrik and Knut discovered board sports in their teenage, Alvaro was riding horses in the grass covered vast lands of South America. Surfing in the Swedish West Coast finally brought them all together as they became of age (but never grew up).

With a background in surfing, skiing, snowboarding, skateboarding, climbing and mountain biking, both as athletes and working in the industry, three founders of Færd have a great combined experience relating to the materials, production and practical use of modern sport gear. "We want to create our own brand focusing on what we think matters. To make reliable and functional gear, but doing so while taking social and enviromental responsibility", CEO Knut Rehnberg says.

Since the start in 2017 the Færd family has grown with another 3 members. Caroline Marberg, the queen of economics as well as modeling. With a newfound love for surfing she adds flare and fashion thinking in the mix. Kjetil Gardshol, one of the pioneers of wavesailing and surfing in Sweden with lots of experience both from shaping boards and riding them. Christian Johansson, running a local store in Stenungsund for ages with passion for surf, windsurf and water life in all forms.

We look forward to seeing our family grow with new members and adding more products to our gallery. The future is looking green.
